Bryan Andrews Phoenix Concert reviews
Horrible Traffic Jam
We gave ourselves an hour so we left the house at 6:00, even though my map app said 24 minutes to get to Shoreline Amphitheater for the Bryan Andrews concert. We got to 101 and were heading for Amphitheater Parkway, but between 6:30 and 8:00, we moved only a couple hundred feet and were still about 1.8 miles from the Amphitheater itself. Looking at my phone map, all the access routes to Shoreline Amphitheater were backed up for around 1.5 to 2 miles from the Amphitheater, and that didn't change much while inching along on 101. At about 8:10, we gave up after not moving at all for about 10 minutes and escaped from the traffic jam to go home. It appeared that several thousand people were still sitting in cars and hadn't made it to the concert. There doesn't seem to be any news or comments on the backup anywhere. I talked to someone who had made it to the concert much earlier than we did, and they reported that the concert was packed and enjoyable. We missed a good concert and are likely out the cost of 2 tickets through no fault of our own. This was our first time trying to go to a concert at Shoreline, and it will be our last time. SAP Center and Mountain Winery are much easier to get to.
